CRMC Foundation uses online event to support seniors

Cheyenne, Wyo. - From July 11 to July 13, the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation is participating in a 65-hour online giving event to raise funds and awareness for nonprofit organizations serving seniors. Ninety nonprofits from 36 states and the District of Columbia will be participating.

During the event, the CRMC Foundation will be raising funds while also competing for a $10,000 award from Home Instead Senior Care Foundation®. An award will be given to one small, medium and large nonprofit raising the most money or having the most donors participate. Donations of $10 or greater will be accepted at https://www.give65.org/CRMCWyomingPACE.

“Our local senior population continues to increase rapidly,” said Wendy Fanning, the CRMC Foundation’s annual giving and grants director. “Unfortunately, the pace of government and philanthropic support for seniors is not matching the growing need for supportive services for this population. The good news is that Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) has grown exponentially since it opened four years ago. This program empowers seniors to remain independent and to age with dignity. Our goal with this campaign is to help fund this amazingly popular and beneficial program.”

The GIVE65 event begins locally at 6 a.m. on Tuesday and concludes at 11 p.m. on Thursday. The CRMC Foundation is the only nonprofit in Wyoming participating in this event.

The virtual event is an initiative of the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation and the nation’s first and only crowd-fundraising platform focused exclusively on helping nonprofit organizations across the country raise funds for programs and services benefiting seniors.

“GIVE65 allows us to help our seniors while raising awareness of the critical need for the programs and services that so many seniors rely on,” Fanning said.

“Every gift will help seniors at the local level in communities across the country,” said Roger Baumgart, executive director of Home Instead Senior Care Foundation. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation for the second-annual GIVE65 event, and we are hopeful our partnership will ignite greater charitable giving in support of seniors who rely on the nonprofit sector.”

All donations to the GIVE65 event are 100 percent tax-deductible in the United States. The CRMC Foundation can also provide more information at 633-7667.
