Cheyenne Regional Airport clearing runways with new equipment

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - The Cheyenne Regional Airport has some new equipment to clear its runways.

The airport got the tow behind broom about a year ago. Airport crews start clearing the runways, main taxi-ways, and connectors early in the morning. Typically the latest they will start is 4 am.

Gretchen Eichstadt, Operations Manager, says "It's exceptional that we have this broom now, because we haven't always had a reliable tow behind broom."

Some of the equipment the airport has is close to 30 years old.

The airport says they use the new equipment any time we get accumulation.
