Cheyenne residents can recycle Christmas trees at compost facility

Cheyenne, Wyo. - Cheyenne residents can recycle their real Christmas trees after the holidays at the City’s Compost Facility, 3714 Windmill Road, at no charge.

“This year the Boy Scouts will not be picking up real Christmas trees as in the past,” said Vicki Nemecek, City Public Works Director. “The Scouts have decided to invest their time in other community projects.”

Resident are encouraged to use the City’s Compost Facility which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Compost Facility will be closed on Monday, December 25, Tuesday, December 26 and on Monday, January 1, 2018 as these are city holidays. However, the facility will operate under special hours on Sunday, January 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate those people who need to recycle their real Christmas trees.
