Colorado man wanted for Nebraska high speed chases arrested

Cheyenne County, NE. (KGWN)- The man wanted out of Nebraska for leading authorities on two high speed chases last week is now in custody.

21-year-old Elijah Dunning of Commerce City, Co. was arrested in Broomfield, Co.

Officials said Dunning was involved in two high-speed pursuits in multiple counties of western Nebraska on October 30th. Dunning eventually fled his vehicle, and that's where they found a handgun, drug paraphernalia and meth.

The situation forced schools to close in Kimball County and some others to be on lock down on October 31st.

Dunning now faces charges of theft by receiving stolen property, possession of deadly weapon, possession of a firearm, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and possession of meth.
