Deadline to apply to become firefighter at Cheyenne Fire & Rescue March 31

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - Are you looking for a rewarding career? If so, Cheyenne Fire & Rescue wants you to become a member of Cheyenne Fire & Rescue.

The deadline to submit a Firefighters Entrance Exam Packet is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the City of Cheyenne Human Resources Office, 2101 O’Neil Ave., Room 103, Cheyenne, Wyo.

This competitive selection process includes a written examination, a physical ability test, and an oral interview:
- Written examinations will be held at 8 a.m. on April 28, 2017 at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center, 415 W. 18th St.
- The top 75 scores from the written examination will proceed to the Candidate Physical Ability Test which will be held April 28-30, 2017 at the Fire Training Complex, 7222 Commerce Circle. This pass/fail portion of the examination will test the applicant’s ability to meet the physical demands of a firefighters’ endurance, aerobic fitness, upper and lower body strength, flexibility and coordination. A valid Candidate Physical Ability Test certification from an accredited agency will be accepted, provided the certificate was issued within the last 12 months. Cheyenne Fire & Rescue will hold to CPAT orientations on Saturday, March 25 and Saturday, April 8. Call Cheyenne Fire & Rescue Administration at 637-6311 to schedule a date you would like to attend. These orientations are voluntary, but highly recommended.
- Oral interviews are the last part of the examination process which will be held April 28-30 at the Cheyenne Public Safety Center.

A non-refundable fee of $50 check or money order, made payable to the City of Cheyenne must accompany the application at the time it is submitted to the City’s Human Resources Office. The City of Cheyenne is an equal opportunity employer and a drug test is required.
