CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - The Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center are offering 18 free mammograms to underinsured or underserved women in Laramie County at the “October Breast Fest” on October 11, 4 to 8 p.m. The event will be held at the Imaging Pavilion, located at 2003 Bluegrass Circle.

“This is a free event that will focus on educating women who may have questions about mammograms, breast cancer and breast health in general,” said Barbara Lawyer, CRMC’s oncology program manager.

Refreshments and gift basket giveaways will also be provided.

“We invite anyone from the community to stop by to learn more about breast health and the importance of breast screenings in the early detection of breast cancer,” Lawyer said.

Women interested in the free mammograms can attend the event to find out more or can call Lawyer at 633-6863 or toll-free at 877-286-0907.

“We want to help women gain access to mammograms and breast screenings, regardless of their medical coverage or ability to pay,” Lawyer said. “This event is one way we can help make that happen.”

The Cheyenne Women’s Imaging Pavilion is a joint venture between Cheyenne Radiology Group and CRMC and is the only imaging center in Wyoming that is accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

Breast Fest is sponsored by Cheyenne Radiology Group, CRMC, the CRMC Foundation, HealthWorks and Epic.
