CHEYENNE, Wy.(KGWN)- Wyoming Congressman Liz Cheney recently sent out an end of the report constituents all across our state. In the report Cheney describes what she worked on in 2017 and what work still needs to be done this year.
Of the accomplishments of 2017 is passing the most comprehensive tax reform in 30 years. Cheney says the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will ensure people all across our state and nation can keep more of their hard earned money.
Another accomplishment Cheney was a part of was passing the American Health Care act, which is the first step in repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.
Cheney also spent time working on things like:
-Protecting rights of gun owners with the Reciprocity Act
-Defending rights of the unborn with the No Taxpayer for Abortion Act
-Preventing further court interference with Gray Wolves with the Gray Wolf Management Act
-Protecting Seniors with the Access to Medicare Act
-Repealing the Dodd-Frank regulation that hurt community banks
-Repealing other Government overreach with the BLM Planning Rule 2.0 and returning power to the state
Looking forward to 2018 Congressman Cheney tells CBS Newschannel 5 one of the first items that must be tackled is fully repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.
Cheney also wants to work on other things such as:
-Getting people back in the workforce and off government aid like Medicaid
-Focusing on Welfare and building Social Security and Medicare
-Focusing on National Security
-Making sure funding for our military needs is included in the new spending bill
