CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - The day has come for costumes! While kids are having fun this Halloween, it's important they also stay safe.
According to the Cheyenne Police, one of the biggest risks involved in Halloween is the fact that so many children are out on the streets when it's dark.
Make sure your kids aren't wearing dark colors while trick-or-treating. If you have kids who are old enough to go trick-or-treating on their own, check in with them by cell phone. Also, know which route they're taking.
If you are a driver, be extra careful and watch out for the children. Don't drink and drive.
Sergeant David Janes says, "I'm going to be out having fun with my three little girls. We want to make sure the children stay safe."
