Hydrant flushing continues in downtown Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - Starting Monday, April 24, 2017 the City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (Board) water crews will continue to flush hydrants in the downtown area of Cheyenne. Areas for the hydrant flushing will be between E. Pershing Blvd, and W. Lincolnway, and Snyder and Seymour Avenues.

As a result of the hydrant flushing, homes and businesses in these areas may temporarily experience discolored water. Though not harmful, this water may stain laundry. If the water is discolored:
• Wait until the nearby hydrant flushing is complete
• Let the COLD water faucet or outside spigot run until the water clears or flush the toilet
multiple times
• Clean out faucet aerators or filters

Crews may begin flushing hydrants early in the morning and continue until the areas’ hydrants have been flushed. Downtown hydrant flushing should be completed by Friday, April 28, 2017, weather permitting. For additional information on hydrant flushing, visit
