Keane's Keys: UW vs. CSU (Border War Edition)

By  |

CHEYENNE, Wyo. The cliché when it comes to college rivalry games is, "throw the records out when these teams meet." For Wyoming though, they need to remember their record the past few years against the Rams, and know that it hasn't been very good.

Here are my keys to the game for the Pokes as they face CSU on Saturday:

Number one:

Eliminate turnovers.

So far this season, Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen has thrown six interceptions and lost two fumbles. He'll have to take care of the ball on Saturday for the Cowboys to win.

Number two:

Throw out some different looks on defense.

In three games this season, Freshman quarterback Collin Hill has had time to throw and he's made good passes for the Rams.

The Cowboys defense will have to get pressure, but also need to disguise some blitzes to get him uncomfortable.

Number three:

It's not like you need any more motivation, but It's been four years since you've (Wyoming) claimed the Bronze Boot, and it's the last time you'll ever play in Hughes Stadium.

This game's been circled on the calendar for 364 days. Come out and play with everything to gain, and nothing to lose.
