CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) More than one-hundred people were at American Legion Post Six in Cheyenne Monday morning to honor a group of Korean War Veterans.
In the early 1950's American troops were sent to South Korea to protect democracy.
Arturo Archuleta, a Korean war veteran said "It feels like an honor because they went and liberated a country that needed help."
For veterans that have passed on, family members were there to stand in their place- and for many of these families this was an emotional ceremony.
Korean consul General said his fellow Koreans have not forgotten about the sacrifice our veterans made for them almost seventy years ago.
Governor Matthew Mead, Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr and Wyoming adjunct General Major Luke Reiner were all present during the ceremony.
