CHEYENNE, Wyo - Often times palliative care and hospice care get confused, or people think they are the same type of programs. Doctor Jim Hejmanowski and Ashley Davis who oversees the palliative care program explain more about the program.
Palliative care is a practice medicine and medical care, this type of care is dedicated to improving the quality of life, relieving pain and other symptoms in patients who are seriously ill.
Most insurances, Medicare and Medicaid do cover the cost of palliative care. Your physician can prescribe you to the care. Palliative care physicians have an office but can also travel to your house.
