Potentially Significant Snow for Wednesday

By  |

Several inches of snow look possible, starting on Wednesday and lasting thru early Thursday.

Snow looks to be heavy at times for Wednesday. Generally, this is what it's looking like:

Timeframe: Early Wednesday thru Thursday morning

#Cheyenne: 5-8 inches
#Laramie: 5-10 inches
#Summit: 6-12 inches
Sierra Madre/Snowy Ranges: 1-2 feet
#Scottsbluff: 3-6 inches
#FortCollins/ #Greeley: 4-8 inches

3rd graphic is potential snowfall amounts. Not a for sure bet, but it's a potential.

There is SOME good news! Wind impacts appear low with north to northeast winds generally between 5 to 15 mph. Blowing snow is not expected and impacts from drifting snow will be low. However, any wind will greatly reduce the wind chill temperatures at these temperatures.

Visibility will likely drop to around one half mile or less Wednesday through early Thursday.

Slick and snow-packed roads Wednesday, Wednesday night, and through Thursday.

Bitterly Cold Wind Chill Temperatures between -15 to -30 Wednesday night & Thursday night will result in increasing risk for frost bite and hypothermia!
