Regional West Walk-in Flu Shot Clinic to be held October 14

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (RELEASE) - Regional West will hold a walk-in flu shot clinic from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Community Health office at St. Mary Plaza, 3700 Avenue B, Scottsbluff.

Flu shots protect against influenza, which is a respiratory illness caused by viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs. Young children, adults over age 65, pregnant women and those with chronic medical conditions are at risk for serious complications from the flu.

The walk-in flu shot clinic will be open to children six months of age through adults. For those who prefer or require a variation of the flu vaccine, several types of vaccine will be available at the walk-in clinic. The options include: flu vaccine for those with egg allergies, high-dose vaccine for those age 65 and older, and quadravalent, which protects against four strains of influenza. These flu vaccines will be available upon request while supplies last. Prices will vary according to the type of vaccine requested.

All insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid will be accepted at the walk-in clinic. Insurance companies will be billed for adults and children who are covered by health insurance. Vaccinations will be provided through the CDC Vaccines for Children program for children who are uninsured. Flexible options are available for those with no insurance.
