CHEYENNE, Wyo. (RELEASE) - --- The City of Cheyenne will chip seal sections of five city streets starting on Monday, August 14, weather permitting.

The streets that will be chip sealed are:
Storey Boulevard from Powderhouse to Ridge Road
Powderhouse Road from Gardenia to Storey Boulevard
Gardenia from Yellowstone Road to Powderhouse Road
Evans Avenue from East Lincolnway to 8th Avenue.
Converse Avenue from East Pershing Boulevard to Storey Boulevard

Chip seal is a two-step process which first includes an application of asphalt oil and then a layer of crushed rock to an existing asphalt pavement surface. The street is then swept to remove any rock that doesn’t adhere to the oil. The chip seal process is a moving operating and there will be temporary traffic delays on each street during the process. To avoid delays, motorists are reminded to find alternate routes to get to their destination.

Motorists are reminded to obey the speed limit in construction zones. Funding for this project is from the City’s Fifth-Penny Sales Tax.
