WYDOT projects are important to keep drivers safe

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - WYDOT's engineers meet yearly with transportation experts to go over current and future local roadway projects.

This year's meeting, held this morning, covers projects from now until 2023.

The purpose of the meeting is to present drafts of the state transportation program to our local entities and the public. The idea is to ensure the state has the necessary infrastructure to build and maintain its vast roadways.

Currently, work is being done on some bridge rehab on west Lincolnway structures on I-80. Plus, in Pine Bluffs, structures are being replaced on I-80.

Next year, I-25 will need overpass sign structure repair. In 2019, Horse Creek Road needs mill, overlay, and chip seal. In the five years afterwards, more roads in the region will need to be re-milled and sealed.
