Wheatland teacher earns community grant

Wheatland, Wyo. - A special congratulations should be given to Platte County School District #1, after one of their teachers earns a community grant.

Libbey Elementary 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Hendren, has earned a $2,000 Shopko Community Grant. The Wheatland school teacher will use the money to help support “Integrated Technology in the Classroom”.

The Shopko Foundation supports accredited schools and nonprofit organizations. Grants are awarded throughout the year to support programs that further the foundation’s purpose of promoting the health and education of Shopko employees and customers.

Shopko has awarded grants totaling $1.4 million during 2016, and over $32 million in the past 38 years. If you’d like to apply for a Shopko grant, just head over to their website.
