CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN) - According to Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, breast cancer awareness is going up. Oncology Program Manager at Cheyenne Regional Cancer Center, Barbara Lawyer, says, "Recently my sister got diagnosed with breast cancer, so I know the importance of getting a mammogram is even higher."
This x-ray picture of the breast can help detect breast cancer in the earliest stages.
Mammo Tech at Cheyenne Radiology Group, Paige Fisher, explains, "As soon as we find that breast cancer, your chances of survival have increased."
The key to catching cancer early is keeping in touch with your provider about the best time to get a mammogram screening. Anyone who has breast tissue should follow up with a doctor.
Wyoming Integrated Cancer Services provide mammograms for low income people.
