Winds ramping up before MLK weekend

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (KGWN)- The main focus in Thursday's forecast is the wind. We have a High Wind Warning in place for most of Laramie County, Albany County, and Platte County until 11 AM tomorrow. Of course, while this can put a shot in any inner-tube really impacts travel.

I-80 from Burns to Laramie, and I-25 from the Wyoming/Colorado Border to Glendo will be hazardous for light, high profile vehicles.

Winds will increase overnight on Thursday to around 25 to 30 mph out of the west northwest, with gusts up to 45 mph. On Friday, those winds will ramp up again to as much as 50 mph gusts.

Friday is otherwise not looking too bad, with a high of 42.

Your MLK weekend is looking seasonal for Saturday, but there is a chance of evening snow come Sunday, which could switch over to rain early Monday morning.
