Green River, Wyo. - A Green River man who is accused of crashing into a home and killing a 62-year-old woman and her 1-year-old great-granddaughter is awaiting sentencing after changing his plea.

The Rock Springs Rocket-Miner reports George Eluid Maestas pleaded no contest to three charges on Friday.

Under a no-contest plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors may have enough evidence to convict.

Maestas is charged in the deaths of 62-year-old Debra Devries and Stella Doak. Three others were injured.

He faces up to 50 years in prison and $25,000 in fines, extra court and treatment fees for two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 12.
