CHEYENNE, Wyo. When the high school football season began, the South Bison were the hottest team in the state. A group that hadn't won more than three games in program history suddenly were off to a 3-0 start.
But, since mid-September, the sizzle has subsided as the Bison have now lost their last two games against Gillette and Kelly Walsh.
A big reason why, a combined 81 points given up by the defense in those losses, while the offense just hasn't been able to keep up.
This week the Bison face a Laramie team with a dangerous quarterback in Taylor Dodd they know they'll have to keep in check.
