Prep Athlete of the Week: Blade Kilbourne and Brigham Frentheway

By  |

Cheyenne, WY TWO GYMNASTS ARE HEADED TO THE NATIONAL JUNIOR OLYMPIC CHAMPIONSHIPS, BLADE KILBOURNE AND BRIGHAM FRENTHEWAY.

THEY ARE THE FIRST GYMNASTS FROM WYOMING TO QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS, IN NEARLY A DECADE, AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE THIS WEEK'S PREP ATHLETES OF THE WEEK.

EARLIER THIS APRIL, BLADE AND BRIGHAM COMPETED AT THE REGION 9 GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS AT THE OLYMPIC TRAINING CENTER IN COLORADO SPRINGS.

BY THE END OF IT, BOTH BOYS HAD QUALIFIED FOR NATIONALS.

IT HAS BEEN 9 YEARS SINCE A GYMNAST FROM WYOMING HAS QUALIFIED, AND THE LAST ONE TO DO IT WAS NONE OTHER THAN THEIR COACH, MARC MILLER.

TUESDAY, MAY 3RD, THEY ARE HEADED TO THE MEN'S NATIONAL JUNIOR OLYMPIC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BATTLE CREEK, MICHIGAN. WE WISH BLADE AND BRIGHAM THE BEST OF LUCK.
