This position has the primary responsibility of news gathering, shooting, writing and editing stories but may be required to produce and anchor as needed.
Overall duties include: reporting, writing, shooting, editing, web/social media posting and various other assigned jobs by the News Director. This is a great position to learn and hone many aspects of journalism in preparation for a move to a larger market where these skills will show your value as a team player.
Between daily news chaos, being the Capitol of the Cowboy State, home to the largest rodeo in the world (Cheyenne Frontier Days), F.E. Warren Air Force Base and both the Wyoming Air and Army National Guards, Cheyenne is an exciting and fun area to live and work in.
Qualifications: Broadcast journalism degree is preferred or equivalent job experience in journalism position. The applicant must also possess good leadership skills and excellent people skills when working with co-workers and the community. The ability to manage your time wisely and meet your daily show deadlines is absolutely necessary.
Applicant must also have valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
