Recent Cheyenne South High School graduate Adam Haberkorn had a choice to make. He had to choose a sports and college to continue his athletic career.
He was one of the best running backs in Wyoming and will play in the Shrine Bowl in Casper, June 14th. But that is not the sport he chose to play in college.
He signed Thursday to play college soccer at Laramie County Community College. He is staying close to home and playing a sport he has played almost his whole life.
Family, Friends and local media gathered at South High School to watch Haberkorn sign on the dotted line to play for the Golden Eagle Soccer Team.
"I've been playing soccer for a long time. since I was a little kid at NCSC, CSA back then. I just really caught the fever when I played again and I wanted to keep playing it." Haberkorn said after signing his letter of intent.
LCCC Mens Soccer Head Coach Vince Gibson loves his speed and athleticism. His ability to win every ball in the air was a bonus as well.
Gibson said Adam will start right away at outside back.
"We have been watching him his whole high school senior year so we've been talking every game after that. I want to say a month ago he confirmed he wanted to come play for us. We were just waiting for school to end. Signed him and things are good to go." said Gibson.
