Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Wyoming's unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent in April, down from 4 percent in March.
The Department of Workforce Services says the rate is significantly lower than a year ago, when it was 4.7 percent, and well below the national unemployment rate of 6.3 percent.
"We right now have the 4th lowest unemployment rate in the U.S., so it speaks well for our state," said Joan Evans, Department of Workforce Services Director. "We are a strong state, we've come back. We're the lowest that we've been now on our unemployment rate since 2008 and so hopefully we'll keep seeing those jobs returning and see our economy continue to grow."
Evans says unemployment has dropped in all 23 counties, suggesting improvement in economic conditions across the state.
