Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - A Cheyenne man is behind bars for attempted kidnapping.

Police arrested 33-year-old Charlie Ramirez shortly before 1:00 a.m. Friday morning on charges of felony kidnapping, public indecency and assault and battery.

Ramirez was in the 5800 block of Eastland Court around
7:00 p.m. Thursday night and allegedly approached a 3-year-old boy. A witness says Ramirez had his pants partially down exposing himself. Ramirez reportedly grabbed the boy around his neck, turned around and began to take the boy in the direction of his truck. He released the boy and left the area when a witness yelled that police were on the way.

Ramirez's booking photo is not being released until after a photo lineup has been completed.

Ramirez is scheduled to appear in court on May 29. He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
