Cheyenne, WY (KGWN)- Cheyenne--Laramie County Churches are helping out the community. They are providing gardens to promote health and fight hunger.

Community Gardening is a growing trend among local church groups. With vast amounts of land, several hundred pounds of food can be harvested and shared. Holy Trinity Catholic members produce over 200 pounds of vegetables, which are donated to nearby retirement homes.

Cheyenne Alliance Community member, Vanita Fowden, tells us about the importance of community involvement. "Gardening is about community as much about the food. But just being able to share that fresh food is wonderful."

Cheyenne Alliance and Holy Trinity Catholic Church are two groups who seek to expand their garden plots. But in order to do that, they need your help.

If you are interested in gaining a plot of land, just go to or for more information.
