Cheyenne-KGWN-It has been a great year for local high school athletes signing a letter of intent to continue their athletic career at the college level.

East had 3 sign today. Tyler Lambert, Ben Groenweg and Ryan Mehalick offically inked their name to play at the next level.

Lambert will take that nasty curveball to Bellevue university in Omaha Nebraska. Tyler will study Business at Bellevue.

"They're an elite pitching group and they got really good coaches and it's pretty close to home. They like my curve ball and how I can locate and all that."

Groenweg will play football for the Rocky Mountain College Bears next fall. Ben will major in Education.
"I like Billings a lot. I guess the main thing was the small campus and really tight community and of course what the coaches had to offer. It's a really hard working group and they are kinda on the rise right now."

Mehalick will run multiple events for the track & field team of Black Hills State. While at Black Hills, Ryan will major in Political Science. "Since Freshman year, we had a track meet there. I just fell in love with the campus and the coaches and I heard great things from the athletes. Every time I went back there, I thought I was at home again," Mehalick said after the ceremony.

The 3 student athletes are numbers 12,13 and 14 to sign a letter of intent from East just this year.

Central had one student athlete sign. Josh Fearing will play college basketball at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs. Josh said they have been recruiting him all year and it was the best fit for him as a player.

"It just kinda came down to back and forth back and forth where am I really going to like to play. I just figured Western would be best for me." said Fearing after he signed the paperwork.
Fearing said he is undecided on his major while at Western.
