For the 8th consecutive year, enrollment in kindergarten through 12th grade classes have increased. A recent study showed that enrollment as of October 1st, 2013 was 92,218 compared to 90,993 from the year prior.
The spike was fueled by another record breaking kindergarten class, which for the 6th straight year broke the state record for enrollment. In 2013 alone, it accounted for 8,141 students.
While the upward trend has been consistent that last few years, the Wyoming Department of Education expects the numbers to level off in the next few years due to birth rates begging to level off. The highest enrollment in Wyoming history came in 1993 when the state recorded 103,899.
