UPDATE: F.E. Warren has accounted for all ammo lost on I-80

Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - UPDATE: I-80 IS OPEN

Interstate-80 is now open in both directions between exits 0 to 9.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation initially closed I-80 between exits 0 to 9 because an F.E. Warren AFB security forces team traveling in the missile field lost a small amount of ammunition from the rear of a HMMWV (humvee) while traveling on I-80.
All ammunition and debris have been accounted for. The rounds were never expected to cause any damage to personnel or vehicles traveling on I-80 or in the surrounding areas.

UPDATE: F.E. Warren security forces have concluded their search for the ammo. They believe they have accounted for all of it.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation closed I-80 between exits 0 to 9. The Nebraska Department of Transportation and State Highway Patrol are working with F. E. Warren security forces teams to look for any remaining pieces that may be lying along the ditch line.
