Cheyenne, WY (AP) - Liz Cheney's final campaign finance report from her five-month run against Wyoming U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi shows she had only one-third as much money as Enzi just before she quit the race.
As of Dec. 31, Enzi had $1.8 million and Cheney $612,000. Cheney announced Jan. 6 she was quitting her primary challenge against Enzi because of health issues in her family.
Enzi had been the one raising less money than Cheney, the elder daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney. From July through September, Enzi raised $850,000 while Cheney raised just over $1 million.
Cheney raised less and spent more than Enzi over the last quarter of 2013. Campaign finance reports due Jan. 31 show Cheney raised $720,000 and spent $900,000. Enzi raised nearly $1 million and spent $370,000.
