Former Legislator announces he will run for Cheyenne's House District 42


Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - A former Park County house legislator has announced he will be seeking a legislative seat here in Cheyenne.

Today in a written statement, Tom Jones announced he will seek the nomination for House District 42. The district includes northwestern Cheyenne and western Laramie County.

Jones served in the house from 1977 to 1986 representing Park County. During that time he served as chairman of the Transportation Committee and the Appropriations Committee.

Jones and his wife have lived in Cheyenne for 25 years.

In his statement Jones said he was qualified to serve because after spending 37 years working with the legislature in several capacities I have strong experience in the legislative process and the issues facing the Legislature,” he said.

House district seat 42 is currently being held by Lynn Hutchings who won the seat in 2013.
