Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Tuesday morning, Governor Matt Mead will announce his candidacy for a second term.

Mead will make his announcement at Little America at 11:30am.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports that Mark Macy, the co-chairman for Mead's re-election campaign, confirmed over the weekend that Mead plans to seek a second term.

Mead faces two declared opponents in the Aug. 19 Republican Party primary: State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill and Taylor Haynes, a Cheyenne doctor who has served on the board of trustees at the University of Wyoming.

Macy says Mead plans to visit each county at least twice during the campaign and will visit as many people as he can during campaign events.

No Democrat has announced their candidacy for governor.
