Hail damage costs residents thousands

Cheyenne, WY (KGWN)- In just a few minutes, Monday's storm swept through and caused people hundreds if not thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Randy Krafft, a Cheyenne resident said he had damage, but nothing major, "the trailer took the blunt of it, my truck, wiped out my garden, I had nice tomato plants that are now just stubs."

The Hail storm blew down branches, damaged windows, and even damaged houses.

Kevin Cross from Gold Roofing said he's been busy, "yeah, my phone has been ringing off the hook."

Heather Lennox from Lennox Auto Body said the same thing, "We've had quite a few calls, about half a dozen people come in. A hail claim can run anywhere from $1000 to $15,000"

And it looks like the severe weather is coming around for round two, so make sure to protect your cars, trailers, and houses. But most importantly, protect yourself.

"All of a sudden I just watched a couple of hail hit the porch, and then it was like somebody opened the flood gates. It was like a freight train coming down the road," said Krafft.
