CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Forecasters say the North Platte River will probably reach record levels this weekend in Carbon County. The National Weather Service projects the river will hit 10.5 feet tomorrow in Saratoga. While low-lying areas have been flooded, volunteers, Wyoming National Guard members and others have prevented major property damage by piling sandbags to protect homes and businesses.

POWELL, Wyo. (AP) — Powell police say two 12-year-old girls reported that a man tried to abduct them, but they fought back and escaped. The girls told police the man tried to pull one of them into a pickup Wednesday night near Northwest College, but they bit him and kicked him.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The Jackson Town Council has formally added protections for gay, lesbian and transgender people to its hiring policies. The Jackson Hole News & Guide reportes the changes formalize a practice the city has followed for several years.

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department trapped and relocated a young male grizzly bear that had killed livestock west of Thermopolis. The agency says the bear was captured May 19 and taken to the Caribou-Targhee National Forest and released in occupied grizzly bear habitat.
