Cheyenne, WY (KGWN)- After three years of planning... And the spending of $30-million dollars,
"There's going to be a big game changer for our refinery,” said Mike Achacoso, Plant Manager.
Holly Frontier is ready to add their newest addition to their refinery.
"That's going to be what we call a Belco Scrubber, and that Scrubber will dramatically improve the air emissions from our refinery," said Achacoso.
Their building a new scrubber that will clean the emissions coming from the refinery, making the air we breather a bit cleaner.
"What we're going to do is bypass this stack, so that stack will physically still be out there, but we're going to key into it and pipe it to the scrubber," said Steve Reynolds, Capital Projects Manager.
And at a looming 177 feet tall, the scrubber will change the skyline of Cheyenne.
"When it's working there is going to be a visible plume of steam, and it's white,” said Achacoso.
And change holly frontier for the better. "It'll reduce our environmental footprint, and we're very happy about that," said Achacoso.
