Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Helping the men and women who help us every day, thats the goal of Horses 4 Heroes.

"We get to share our horses with those in our community whose call of duty is to protect and serve," said Sydney Knott, the founder of Horses 4 Heroes.

Horses 4 Heroes held operation free ride on Friday morning giving active military personnel, veterans and first responders a free horse back ride.

"The community has been great in supporting this, the volunteers have come out," said Knott.

Helping people in many different ways. "Its a stress release for me and that's what were finding out from the veterans, once they get involved with the horses, everything else just disappears," said Richard Sindhas, a veteran, and the coordinator of the event.

The horses all came from Cheyenne and donated their time for this cause. "I brought 9 horses out today and a bunch of my volunteers that volunteer at the riding center," said Anita LaFond, from the Cheyenne Therapeutic Equestrian Center.

Creating a fun and relaxing time for those who may need it most.
