Cheyenne, Wyo. - Students from Crook County in northeast Wyoming made a special trip to the state capitol on Friday (3/4/16).

They came to Cheyenne to see Governor Matt Mead formally sign SF0052. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a bill that declares Artemisia tridentata wyomingensis, commonly known as Wyoming Big Sagebrush, as the state shrub of Wyoming.

The reason the kids from Hulett High School came down, was because the original proposal was brought to the Legislature by the school’s advanced biology class. It was then sponsored by: Senator Driskill and Representative Lindholm.

This act officially takes effect on July 1, 2016. To see the original bill, check out: http://legisweb.state.wy.us/2016/Introduced/SF0052.pdf
