Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Some of the Laramie County Fire District 1 and 8 firefighters were training on Sunday at the Cheyenne Fire and Rescue training facility.
They ran through fire suppression and rescue drills in teams throughout the day. LCFD 1 firefighter Spencer Pollock says the drills keep the firefighters prepared for anything.
"You never know hat you're going into each call is a little different," said Pollock.
But in addition to training, LCFD 1 is also in need of something else to keep their department up and ready. They're also in need of volunteers. Pollock says volunteers are vital to the process. "When the volunteer signs up they help their neighbors their community and learn some new stuff and get to be part of a team," said Pollock.
Any interested candidates can apply at LCFD1.com or get a paper copy at Station 1 at 207 E. Allison Rd in Cheyenne. Pollock said they're looking for men and women willing to commit to at least a year with the department, and there are many different positions they're looking to fill.
