Lane Frost remembered 25 years after death

On the 30th of July 1989, a cowboy, bull rider and soon to be legend passed away doing what he loved.
25 years later at the Daddy of ‘Em All, his parents returned to honor their son. Clyde and Elsie Frost are the parents of Lane Frost.
Lane died in 1989 at the CFD rodeo after being gored by a bull named “Takin’ Care of Business.”
His parents have not been to CFD since the ten year anniversary in 1999.

"I just never dreamed after 25 years that they would still be doing tributes to him so it's just a real honor," said Lane's mother Elsie.

The Old West Museum has a whole section dedicated to Lane and a statue just outside the doors.
Some of the displays were given by friends and some by Elsie and Clyde-even if they don’t remember giving them the item.

"It's been a long time ago. I knew it was one of his. I remembered it but I knew I hadn't seen it in a long time. That's why I donated it for a benefit. It got sent to the hall of fame then I guess here from there," Elsie said about the Rodeo shirt enshrined at the museum.

And fate has a place in this story because at this year’s rodeo 2 riders with the last name Frost are competing for a buckle.

"I love rodeo and it's great. I love to watch them and we don't get to watch them that often," said Lane's dad Clyde.

Josh and Joe Frost are 2nd cousins of Lane. Josh never got to meet him but does know a lot of stories.

"He actually grew up with my dad Kelly. Then when Lane was about 13 years old they moved to Oklahoma. My dad tells a story of when they were younger. Lane actually had a little brother. They told Lanes little brother if he didn't come ride with them when they grew up and were rodeo cowboys, he couldn't drive their plane for them." " He's kinda one of my idols," said Lane's 2nd cousin Josh Frost who heard many stories from his dad.
