Larry Shyatt Confirms ACL Injury of Nance; Announces Suspension

Laramie, WY (KGWN)- Head Wyoming men's basketball coach Larry Shyatt announced today that Junior forward Larry Nance Jr. would miss the remainder of the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

The injury happened in the second half of Wyoming's home game against Fresno State, Tuesday.

Nance was leading the Cowboys in points (15.4), rebounds (8.4), blocks (2.1) and steals (1.4), but will require season-ending surgery.

Shyatt also announced that freshman forward Keonta Vernon has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Vernon has not played in any games for Wyoming this season and was redshirting.

Coach Shyatt said that coaches and players would not comment any further on Vernon.
