Lightning kills one in RMNP

Lightning killed a woman and injured seven others in Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday.

Denver, CO - Lightning killed a woman and injured seven others in Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday.

Park staff tells our sister station, CBS4 in Denver, the strike occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m. on the Ute Crossing Trail, near Trail Ridge Road and between Rainbow Curve and Forest Canyon Overlook.

Two were taken by ambulance and five transported themselves to the Estes Park Medical Center.

The victims’ names haven’t been released.
