Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Dr. Taylor Haynes officially announced Friday that he is running for Governor of Wyoming. He's running as a Republican and is looking to unseat Governor Matt Mead.
Haynes won't call himself a member of the tea party, but says he shares many of the same values they do. He says he's running now after many supporters reached out after the last legislative session.
In 2010, Haynes earned more than 14,000 write-in votes for the office of Governor. That out pouring of support is what also encouraged him to run this year.
He says he's been unofficially campaigning for months, and that so far, the fundraising efforts have been "pretty good."
