Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Even though it seems like the summer is winding down, there are still fun outdoor activities going on.
On August 9th at 8 pm join Rangers Wesley Gant and Matthew Lamar at the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
Search for the Monument’s nocturnal residents, observe the rise of a super moon, prepare for the famous Perseid meteor shower, and hear stories about notable constellations.
Participants should bring a flashlight and wear comfortable shoes. The program will require visitors to walk about one mile.
Earlier that day the West Nebraska Family Research Center will host Floyd Smith III to give you tips about researching your roots. The program will be held at 3 pm and is free with a valid park entrance pass.
Additional information about Scotts Bluff National Monument programs and schedules may be obtained at the visitor center or by calling 308-436-9700.
