Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Wyoming native, Craig Johnson is a New York Times best selling author. His series of books have been adapted to a hit A&E TV show. Now, he can add One Book Wyoming featured author to his list of accomplishments.
Wyoming Libraries have started One Book Wyoming to encourage all Wyoming residents to read Craig Johnson's book, Spirit of Steamboat. The program is designed to get books into the hands of those who normally don't pick them up. The libraries will be aggressive in their marketing of the new program and doing things a little bit differently. For instance, they've designed coasters with the One Book Wyoming logo and information on them and will distribute them around the state. They'll also give Johnson's books to bars, so patrons can pick them up from the local watering hole.
Johnson is very excited about the program and said that, "one of the fundamental aspects of a healthy, happy, and intellectual life I think is to be able to read." He encourages everyone to participate in the program, even if they don't read his book.
Johnson will also be traveling across the state visiting different libraries promoting his book, as well as One Book Wyoming. For more information on the program you can visit One Book Wyoming's website, which will also have a link to their Facebook page. A full schedule of events is not yet available, but will be soon. You can contact your local library for more information as well.
