Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Holly Frontier Refinery officials will be going door to door in the neighborhoods surrounding the refinery this week. Their goal is to alleviate fears after last Friday’s (June 13) debris cloud created a stir in parts of Cheyenne.
According to refinery spokesman Don Finely, the smoke was catalyst dust, which is similar to fine grained sand. Finley says the dust is not harmful and can be easily cleaned up and swept away.
Refinery officials will be handing out vouchers for car washes, and ask that anyone with questions or concerns, call the Refinery Environmental Department at 307-771-8706. Anyone with a damage claim should contact Mansville Claims Service at 307-638-1212.
