Casper, WY (AP) - Two Republicans are among the first people to say they're running for Wyoming secretary of state.
They are Rock Springs City Council member Clark Stith and Cheyenne state Rep. Dan Zwonitzer.
Stith has practiced law in Rock Springs since 1997. He tells the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner he wants to make sure that Wyoming is business friendly without attracting fraudulent businesses.
Zwonitzer has served in the Legislature for 10 years and previously was a policy analyst for Gov. Dave Freudenthal. The Casper Star-Tribune reports Zwonitzer co-chairs a committee that is planning a $250 million renovation of the state Capitol.
Current Secretary of State Max Maxfield announced last week he will finish his current term but will not seek a third term. No Democrats are running yet.
