Senior Corps Week

Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Governor Matt Mead signed a proclamation Thursday declaring May 19-23 as Senior Corps Week.

The week recognizes the three Senior Corps programs, which include the Foster Grandparent Program, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Senior Companion Program.

Senior Corps volunteers spend countless hours serving their local communities.

"To have the Governor recognize these folks and to say thank you for their service, it rewards them and it just reiterates the importance of the work that they do in their communities," said Judi Johnston, Director of the Southeast Wyoming Foster Grandparent Program.
