Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) Cheyenne Workforce Center will host a Preference Act Seminar on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
The Wyoming Preference Act aims to retain public monies in the state by giving a leg up to Wyoming contractors bidding on public works projects. The law also gives Wyoming residents preference over out-of-state workers seeking employment on public works projects. The seminar will not address bidding processes, but instead, will provide information and procedural steps regarding individual contractor responsibilities for employing Wyoming residents after contracts with Wyoming governmental entities have been awarded.
1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Workforce Center (1510 E. Pershing Blvd., Room 1141)
The seminar is open to the public. Attendance is recommended for any contractor who is involved in, or intends to participate in public works projects in the State of Wyoming.
There is no cost to participate.
