CENTENNIAL, Wyo. (AP) — An elder at a Wyoming church where the pastor was shot says the wounded man is expected to be OK. Pastor Dennis Lynn Davis was shot with his own handgun after apparently interrupting a burglary Tuesday night at Centennial Valley Community Church west of Laramie. Elder Randy Svalina said Davis underwent surgery and is recovering. Law officers are looking for suspects.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Yellowstone National Park officials say a 21-year-old woman who worked there has been found dead, and authorities are investigating. Kassandra "Kassie" Wieferich of Twin Bridges, Montana, was found dead Tuesday night in the Old Faithful Lodge area. Park rangers and special agents are investigating her death.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A daughter of a 75-year-old Missouri woman sentenced to life in prison this week for killing her husband in Wyoming almost 40 years ago says she stands by mother. A judge in Cheyenne on Monday gave Alice Uden the maximum possible sentence, but Erica Hayes maintains the shooting saved her from her stepfather when she was just 2.
CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A mule deer conservation group is working with state officials on a five-year, $1.3-million study on a declining mule deer herd in southwestern Wyoming. The Star-Tribune reports that the Muley Fanatic Foundation, the University of Wyoming and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department are cooperating on the study.
